Following are some of the ways to get rid of the makeup stains:
1. Lipstick: Lipstick is one of the most used beauty products. Since, most of the lipsticks are oil-based, therefore, it is better to use an oil-based cleaner to remove the stain. Buy a liquid soap that can fight hard oils and grease stains. Now, in order to remove the excess color from the garment, take a clean tissue and start blotting the stain. Spray some clean water on the stained area but, don’t make a mistake of soaking the complete garment in the water. Pour a drop of liquid soap on the stained area and rub it gently. Now, leave it undisturbed for about 10-15 minutes. Next, make use of a clean towel to rub the soap on the stain in a circular motion. After you have dabbed the stained part, with the clean towel. See if the stain has vanished. If still you see the stain on the garment, repeat the same procedure. If not the liquid soap, rubbing alcohol can also be used to get rid of the stain. You just need to take a cotton ball, soak it in the alcohol and directly rub it on the stain, until it has been treated completely.
2. Foundation: Liquid foundations tend to soak into the fabric very easily, leaving an embarrassing stain on the cloth. With the help of a sharp knife, begin to scrape off the extra foundation from the garment. Now, take a damp paper towel and start blotting the stain, so that the maximum of the product can be removed. Next step is to pour a few drops of hydrogen peroxide on the stain and start working it into the fabric by using your fingers. Use soft bristled toothbrush and rub it in the circular motion. Wash the fabric as normal and leave it to dry.
In the case of powdered foundation, a solution of liquid detergent and water must be prepared and applied to the stain. Initially, rub the same with the fingers and then by using the toothbrush. Again, wash the cloth as normal and let it dry. Baby wipes are effective to clean the fresh stains of foundations (liquid or dry).
3. Mascara: Purchase a pre-wash stain removal from the market. In order to work on the stains caused by the mascara, apply the stain removal on the affected area. Now, with the use of an old toothbrush rub it gently. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes and then, wash it with hot water. Either by hand or by using the machine, wash the garment. Let it dry completely. Don’t put it in the dryer, instead choose to air-dry. The heat of the dryer can set the stain into the cloth rather than working on it effectively.
4. Deodorant: Deodorant may not be counted as a makeup, but still it gets on your clothing many a times. Use nylon stockings or a dryer sheet and rub the fabric where the deodorant mark appears. It will come out of the clothing very easily. If you observe the stain as soon as it appears on the cloth, you can simply take a damp cloth and rub onto the stain to get rid of it.
These tips can help you to get your clothes free from makeup stains effectively. Treat the stains as soon as possible, as with the passage of time, the stain goes deep into the clothing material, and becomes hard to remove.
